The project mainly comprised gathering information on the travel patterns of 70,000 Singapore residents for the period 2016-2019. We led the overall study which included data collection, data analysis and reporting of travel trends and characteristics. The surveys were conducted through a mixture of traditional face-to-face Household Interview Surveys (HIS) and the recruitment of respondents to a Mobile Travel Survey (MTS) which was a smartphone app tracking and recording the travel pattern of respondents.
- The major phase of the works was done in 2016 and involved survey questionnaire design, sampling methodology, piloting and 15,000 respondents for the Household Interview Surveys and recruiting 30,000 respondents for the Mobile Travel Surveys. In addition, surveys of 5,000 Mobile Travel Survey respondents were conducted in each of the years 2017-2019.
- The study was part of a regular ongoing Comprehensive Travel Survey carried out in Singapore and SYSTRA was proud to have been involved in the travel analysis for the previous three studies in 2012, 2008 and 2004.
