A prominent professional profile and a driving force at SYSTRA

Eli is originally educated as an agronomist (Cand. Agro) at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University and subsequently obtained a PhD from the University of Copenhagen, where he researched the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in environmental management—a field that has remained central to his career ever since.
Eli’s career began at the National Environmental Research Institute of Denmark, where he researched methods for calculating the environmental impact of agriculture. He later worked at Mobilix and HOH Water and Environment, focusing on the development of GIS applications.
In 2000, Eli began his journey with SYSTRA, at that time The Danish Railway Agency’s Consulting Division (later Atkins, now SYSTRA Denmark). He started as an group leader in the environmental team and quickly advanced to department manager.
Since 2006, Eli has been a member of the executive management team and has held a wide range of responsibilities over the years. Today, he serves as Managing Director for the Consultancy business area, with responsibility for the IT and energy markets.
As a long-standing member of the management team, Eli has been one of the driving forces behind the development of new business areas and the maintenance of SYSTRA Denmark’s strong position as both a rail engineering and multidisciplinary consultancy.
Active in the community and among peers and colleagues
In addition to his role at SYSTRA, Eli has been involved in organisations such as DAFAGO and Geoforum, where he has worked to disseminate knowledge about data utilisation for the benefit of society. He has also held positions such as vice-chairman and treasurer on Geoforum’s board, and has made his mark in several committees within FRI (the Danish Association of Consulting Engineers), reflecting his commitment to environmental and climate issues—both within the industry and in society at large.
Eli is a colleague and leader who, through his flat management style, strong engagement, and professional curiosity, has fostered a positive working environment and strengthened SYSTRA Denmark as an organisation. And when the workday is over, his enthusiasm continues. Privately, Eli is also known as a skilled and passionate player—both at the bridge table and at the ping pong table, often wearing a SYSTRA shirt. His sportsmanship and sociable approach are also reflected in his daily interactions with colleagues.
Eli has been—and continues to be—a key driving force at SYSTRA Denmark for many years. He has contributed with tremendous professional commitment, an ability to spot new opportunities, and a collegial spirit that has positively influenced the entire organisation. It is a pleasure to work with him, both on large projects and in our day-to-day collaboration. I would like to offer Eli my warmest congratulations on his anniversary and look forward to many more great years together as colleagues at SYSTRA.
Eva Rindom, Managing Director (CEO) of SYSTRA Denmark
