In India, SYSTRA is an international consulting and engineering company operating in the fields of Metros, High Speed Rail, Railways, Roads, Buildings, Urban planning, and Water Infrastructure for public and private organizations.
CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.
CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2.
CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. The technical and management teams within CTR get an opportunity to work and interact with other CTR teams within Systra Group from Paris, Poland, Dubai, Philippines and Brazil.
Missions/Main Duties
- Evaluate the Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR), project scope, and delivery schedule to define digital design workflows that meet client expectations.
- Collaborate with design leads across disciplines to define design authoring, sharing, coordination, and review processes.
- Develop and maintain the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), ensuring all design workflows are clearly documented and agreed upon.
- Define and enforce design delivery protocols for models, drawings, reports, and data exchanges, ensuring consistency across all disciplines.
- Establish and configure the project CDE to support seamless design collaboration, version control, and structured data exchange.
- Define folder structures, naming conventions, metadata requirements, and approval processes to align with project information standards.
- Set up discipline-specific design models, ensuring they follow the agreed standards and protocols.
- Lead the federation of models into coordinated design sets at key milestones.
- Establish clash detection workflows, conduct regular clash reviews, and chair design coordination meetings to resolve clashes and design issues collaboratively.
- Define QA/QC workflows for design information, including model checks, design data validation, and progress reviews.
- Establish automated design compliance checks to verify alignment with EIR, BEP, and client-specific requirements.
- Provide ongoing training and support to design teams, ensuring they understand and follow agreed design workflows and digital delivery processes.
- Act as the primary digital delivery interface between internal design teams, clients, external stakeholders, and contractors.
- to provide early warnings on design bottlenecks, potential non-compliances, and risk areas.
Profile/Skills
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Information Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience working within multidisciplinary design teams on infrastructure projects.
- Deep understanding of design workflows, particularly in highways, rail, or major infrastructure projects.
- Direct experience managing design authoring workflows using tools such as: Civil 3D, Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, 3D coordination tools like Navisworks, Bentley Navigator
- Experience in setting up and managing CDE platforms such as: BIM 360, ProjectWise, Aconex, Asite
- Knowledge of clash detection, design coordination workflows, and model validation processes.
- Ability to mentor design teams, helping them adapt to evolving digital processes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across disciplines, project levels, and geographies.
