Our job is to create transportation solutions that encourage access to regions and services, facilitating the movement of people and goods. That is the reason we exist. We take responsibility for providing every individual with efficient and accessible transport.
The infrastructure we develop must be reliable, sustainable and resilient, in order to support not only the economic development of cities and regions, but also the well-being of all.
In a context of climate emergency and energy transition, we focus especially on managing resources (biodiversity, water…) and dealing with the carbon footprint.
Sustainability is more than a strategic intent, it is a way to place these issues at the very heart of what we do. There are therefore three aspects to sustainability at SYSTRA:
- Our environmental responsibility to respond, via our projects, to the challenges generated by the climate emergency and the preservation of biodiversity;

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Our environmental and social responsibility is fully integrated into the responses we provide to our clients’ and users’ needs. Via the diversity of our assignments and the nature of the projects to which we contribute, we act in favor of sustainable mobility, compatible with the energy and ecological transition, enabling everyone to move freely.
Our technical and innovation choices are made with a circular economy approach. We thus reconcile economic imperatives, the reduction of negative impacts and the assessment of positive impacts in a long-term vision. We also place the eco-design initiative at the heart of our projects, by taking into account the challenges at every stage of the project’s life cycle, from planning to design, and then throughout the operation and maintenance phases.
As signatories of the Climate Engineering Charter with Syntec-Ingénierie since October 2019, we are aligned with the ambitions set by the Paris Agreement and committed to adopting a 1.5°C strategy that is consistent with our environmental policy.
Since 2020, our BIM (Building Information Modeling) approach has integrated indicators on greenhouse gas emissions, essential for assessing project impacts and decision-making. This progress has allowed environmental responsibility to be fully integrated in our projects right from the initial stages.

Integrated management system (IMS)
SYSTRA’s commitment to our clients, partners, employees and the community is to inspire trust and well-being where we operate, being the Signature Team in safe and long-lasting transportation solutions, proposing environmentally sustainable solutions, helping humanity to thrive in a safe and prosperous global environment.
An IMS is the combination of processes, procedures and practices adopted by an organization to implement its policies and achieve its objectives more efficiently than through multiple management systems. It allows the aspects and objectives of quality, environmental performance and occupational health and safety to be integrated into day-to-day operations.
SYSTRA Brasil’s IMS is certified by ABS Quality Evaluations.
More details on the main activities of SYSTRA Brasil’s IMS:
- Ensure compliance with IMS processes related to the OSH area;
- Identify, guide and monitor projects to ensure compliance of legal requirements;
- Suggest prevention measures in order to reduce work-related accidents and illnesses;
- Assist and monitor the drafting of OSH programs and legal documents;
- Carry out internal training on OSH issues (integration, ergonomics, MSDS, firefighting, evacuation, PPE and CPE, etc.).
