The Panama Metro Line 3, led by Hyundai Engineering, involves constructing a 25 km monorail with 14 stations from Albrook to Ciudad del Futuro, aimed at reducing traffic in Panama City.
Our scope
The third-party verification by SYSTRA Korea includes reviewing civil structures, seismic risk analysis, and geotechnical aspects over 18 months.
SYSTRA fully verified that the design complies with all the Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, and that the designs comply fully with the requirements of the Main Contract (The SYSTRA Korea Team carried out the third party verifier engineering service in the areas of civil structure (Viaduct and Station) design and probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) by means of numerical calculation including independent analysis according to the complexity of the structure for 18 months from March 2021.) :
Viaduct
The external review of the Basic Design is conducted through numerical calculation and independent analysis, reflecting the complexity of the structure, which includes all viaduct elements such as geotechnical interpretation with 103 boring holes, foundations, piles, columns, pier caps, and superstructures.
Stations
An independent review of all stations is conducted by means of numerical calculation and independent analysis, taking into account the complexity of the structures, with the Basic Design covering structural design elements such as geotechnical interpretation with 103 boring holes, foundations, piles, columns, pier caps, superstructures, and steel structures, and the Detailed Design addressing architectural aspects.
Probabilistic Analysis of Seismic Risk
3PV reviewed the Probabilistic Analysis of Seismic Risk (PSHA) for the evaluation of the response spectrum for both earthquakes with the probability of overcoming 50% in 75 years and 3% in 75 years.
