Project: Appointment of General Consultant (GC) for System Works of Part of Corridor of Metro Line 5 (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan), Metro Line 7A (Andheri (E) to CSIA), Metro Line 9 (Dahisar (E) to Mira Bhayander) of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA.
We are seeking applications for the position of Sr. Safety Expert-K2 for GC Mumbai Metro Line 5, 7A & 9-System.
Missions/Main Duties
Accomplished Safety Officer and Occupational Health Specialist with 15 years of experience in managing and improving Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001:2018) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015) compliance.
Safety Expert will assist Project Director/Dy. Project Director in coordinating the Safety issues with construction contractors as well as the client and other stakeholder. Ensure implementation of approved Safety Plan. Recommend addition / alteration in safety plan with changes in field conditions or additional plant, machinery or equipment brought for use by construction contractor. Training and educating the engineers of the D&B contractor and client on safety issues. Conduct site inspections to check and ensure compliance to the safety plans. Supervise and educate the Construction Safety Engineers in monitoring the safety measures of D&B Contractors.
- Implementing and maintaining safety measures across the project site to uphold project quality and safety throughout the lifecycle.
- Leading the execution of GIS substation and SCADA-based power supply systems for metro rail/suburban/mainline railway projects.
- Defining and transferring safety requirements to control railway safety risks and following them through to closure.
- Managing project information flow and assisting in developing project execution strategies.
- Conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, assisting with safety training, and helping with incident reporting.
- Maintaining safety records and ensuring proper use of PPE.
- Promoting a strong safety culture and preventing accidents while ensuring compliance with safety standards on site.
- Collaborating with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors for seamless project execution.
- Providing EHS support during tendering and project execution phases.
Profile/Skills
- Monitor compliance with all applicable regional EHS regulations as well as develop and implement policies and SOPs aligned with EHS Standards and Group EHS Policy also establish EHS metrics, performance targets, and KPIs, and monitor their effectiveness
- Build in Occupational Health & Safety Awareness among all Employees, Vendors & Contractual Staff through Safety Workshop, BA Tests, Inspections, Audits & Feedback Sessions.
- Monitor workplace, handle, and first-aid injuries also conduct EHS incident investigations, perform Root Cause Analysis, and implement Corrective & Preventive actions
- Coordinate for smooth operation of First aid medical centres at stations/depots and monitoring first aid consumables. Ensure all Occupational Health & Safety related activities are met as per Safety Calendar.
- Ensure all fire safety equipment in working condition at stations/depots in view of passenger/staff safety.
- Inspect fire detection and suppression systems, conduct mock drills, and oversee emergency evacuations and manage Fire Safety equipment installation and maintenance
- Conduct regular safety meetings with the safety committee to address concerns, perform site visits and encourage staff to identify hazards and report them & coordinate hazard identification, risk assessment & provide control measures
- Ensure the implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper storage of hazardous materials
- Report EHS performance to higher authorities and stakeholders during Monthly Management Review meetings (MRM) and Quarterly Review Meets (QRM)
- Conduct internal audits in line with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 and follow up on the closure of observations and non-conformities
