Syrian border railway up to Iraq connection
This project covered the preliminary and final design of a 52.2 km section of a 132.8 km dual-line (160 km/h) railway. The scope included 1/2,000 scale terrestrial mapping, detailed route plan and profile preparation, and comprehensive geological and geotechnical studies based on extensive land surveys, drilling, and laboratory testing.
Detailed design deliverables comprised geotechnical reports (for fills, cuts, overpasses, and viaducts), 4 viaducts (totaling 669 m) in seismic zones, 32 underpasses, 10 overpasses, 133 culverts, and 28 road detail projects (totaling 10.3 km). Preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report was also included.
