In 2019, SYSTRA Denmark, as the technical advisor, along with LYTT, ADEPT, and with TVEDE Consulting Engineers as a sub-advisor, won the competition to develop new main entrances and blue gathering areas with access to “Naturpark Amager” from the water side. The new areas now serve as landmarks in the landscape and improve opportunities for exploring the natural area.
SYSTRA handled advisory tasks concerning constructions on land and in water, construction of paths, stairs, etc., geotechnics, assessment of nature and environmental conditions, nature mapping, drainage, coastal protection in connection with interventions in dikes, regulatory processing, as well as construction management and occupational health and safety.
And now, the project has been nominated for the audience award for Copenhagen’s most beautiful new construction.
According to the Municipality of Copenhagen, the facilities in Naturpark Amager are to be commended for their simple and precise way of translating the vast landscape into concentrated experiences – providing its guests with better access to the unique natural experiences, both physically and through a clearer narrative about the landscape: here, nature, play, outdoor activities, and contemplation coexist.

ABOUT THE AUDIENCE AWARD
The nominees were selected from 33 nominated projects inaugurated between October 1, 2022, and December 31, 2023.
The Municipality of Copenhagen has been awarding beautiful buildings, urban environments, and facilities since 1903. The building awards emphasize that the construction is based on the site’s unique character and contributes to the experience of Copenhagen as a city with quality in the urban environment.
The Audience Award was first presented in 2018, where over 2,000 votes were cast. The winner back then was Axel Towers.
