At the annual meeting of the Danish Association of Consulting Engineers, FRI, on Thursday, March 2, the award “Årets unge FRI-rådgiver 2023” was announced, and SYSTRA employee Jyothsna Amrith won the title.
Jyothsna received the award for her work on the complex project development of the Bergen Light Rail in Bergen and the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit in Jakarta, Indonesia.

It was an honor to be nominated and it feels good when the management shows trust in you. This aspires to do more. Winning is a privilege, and I am of course extremely happy. I will allow myself to be a tad proud of myself.
To be able to be where I am today, I would say Atkins has a played a huge role. I would like to thank all mentors, colleagues, and friends from whom I learn each day. My special thanks to my parents who have given us such a wonderful upbringing to both me and my sister back in India.

INTERNATIONAL CAREER AT A YOUNG AGE
Jyothsna began her career with Atkins in India in 2011 and has since traveled to Atkins in the UK before joining Atkins Denmark, from where she is on secondment to Atkins Norway to work on the development of the Bergen Light Rail.
The award-winning and innovative project, Bybanen, is a public transport network solution in Bergen that serves as the backbone of the public transport system. In addition to the light rail, the project also involves urban development and planning.
Jyothsna has played a central role in the project and has, among other things, been responsible for developing a rail solution that ensures passenger comfort, stable operation and sustainability. The project included several innovative solutions such as integrating more sports into the natural surroundings of the city and landscape and relocating 200 trees instead of cutting them down.
Link BETWEEN INDIA AND DENMARK
Jyothsna is praised by colleagues and business partners for her strong communication and collaboration skills. For several years, she has acted as a link between Atkins in India and Denmark – an important role that has been crucial in the development of the collaboration between Atkins in India and Denmark.
Succeeding with multiple secondments while continuing her professional development in India, England, Denmark and Norway require courage, perseverance and great personal and interpersonal skills both internally at Atkins, but also with the diversity of customers and cultures.
Peter Lassen Skrubbeltrang, Head of Department in Permanent Way
I am delighted that I was able to overcome cultural, demographic, linguistic barriers in some way.
