A young engineer with great potential
The FIDIC Future Leadership Award is given to a young engineer who has made an extraordinary effort and has the potential to be one of the future leaders in the industry.
Talent and innovation are important for the development of our industry, and it’s great when we have the opportunity to celebrate and honor some of our talented young engineers through the Danish Association of Consulting Engineers (FRI). In SYSTRA Denmark, we are incredibly proud that Jyothsna has won the FIDIC Future Leadership Award – it is absolutely fantastic and deserved – a huge congratulations Jyothsna!

AN INTERNATIONAL CAREER AT A YOUNG AGE
Jyothsna is a project manager and specialist in rail projects. She started her career with SYSTRA (then Atkins) in India in 2011 and has since traveled to the UK office before joining the Denmark office, from where she is on secondment to the Norway office to work on the Bergen light rail extension.
The award-winning and innovative project “Bybanen” is a public transport network solution in Bergen that serves as the backbone of the public transport system. In addition to the light rail, the project also involves urban development and planning.
Jyothsna has played a key role in the project and has been responsible for developing a track solution that ensures passenger comfort, stable operation and sustainability. The project included several innovative solutions such as integrating more rail types into the natural surroundings of the city and landscape and relocating 200 trees instead of cutting them down.
LINK BETWEEN INDIA AND DENMARK
Jyothsna is praised by colleagues and business partners for her strong communication and collaboration skills. For several years, she has acted as a link between the India and Denmark offices – an important role that has been crucial in the development of the collaboration between the two offices.
At SYSTRA, we have no doubt that Jyothsna will deliver excellent results in the future, whether she chooses to continue her development in project management and consulting or whether she moves into organizational management.
