SYSTRA has redesigned the existing register to make it simpler and more user-friendly to register bees. In addition to the functionality for mapping diseases, the newly developed solution also includes the ability to delineate quarantine zones, move and sell bees, as well as register physical sampling and response from Aarhus University, public bee disease control, and support for the work of Danish bee inspectors.
The old register was launched in 2011 and was voluntary to use until April 21, 2021, after which it became mandatory for all beekeepers to register according to the EU animal health law.

Bees are highly efficient pollinators and play a crucial role for biodiversity and for our food production. Therefore, we are pleased to have redesigned the Central Apiary Register for the Danish Agriculture Agency, allowing users to easily register their bees and simultaneously map and assist in managing any diseases.

The Central Beehive Register is a redevelopment of the IT and WebGIS system, originally launched by SYSTRA for the Danish Agriculture Agency back in 2011.
