It is essential that each employee finds meaning in and personifies the company’s HSS vision. The ambition that motivates us goes far beyond the  ‘zero accident’ doctrine. It is no longer about adding rules each time there is a new incident but about putting in place managerial routines that are proactive, simple, mature and effective for ensuring operational excellence on a daily basis in all that we do.

A positive redefinition of health, safety and security.

The traditional approach limits HSS to the management of risks: Do what is necessary to ensure that as little as possible goes badly. SYSTRA has decided to translate health, safety and security into opportunities that contribute to the operational performance of the company: Do what is necessary to ensure that as much as possible goes well. This initiative makes sense for our teams, our partners and our clients, who are increasingly aware that HSS is transforming our company in a positive way.

At SYSTRA, the health, safety and security of the public, transport industry actors and our colleagues is a moral responsibility. To be a reference company and contribute to a safer world, the involvement of managers is essential. It is via their daily commitment to HSS, via their ability to set an example by having a ‘safety attitude’ that all our colleagues will share these common values. Safety is everyone’s business, and everyone is committed to ensuring it on a daily basis.

SYSTRA’S 9 Life-saving rules

  • Right to stop: Employees are empowered to stop working and tell others to stop if they think there is a danger to life.
  • No drugs or alcohol: SYSTRA does not tolerate anyone working or driving under the influence of alcohol or judgment-impairing drugs.
  • Work safely in the field: All employees and visitors must follow the required plans, instructions, and permits. No safety briefing = no visit.
  • Wear protective equipment: All workers must use protective gear in good condition that is suitable for their roles on the job site.
  • Be aware of lifting: Workers can never enter exclusion zones or stand underneath suspended loads.
  • Use care in high-risk situations: Workers must reinforce vigilance and strictly follow all control measures in high-risk situations.
  • Report incidents immediately: Everyone is required to report any dangerous situation, near miss or incident as quickly as possible.
  • Drive safely: Employees must obey speed limits, wear seatbelts, and never use mobile devices while driving or riding in work vehicles.
  • Travel smart: Employees must plan their journeys in agreement with their line managers and apply all 3S instructions at all times.

ISO Certifications

Quality, safety, and the environment are at the heart of everything we do, so we are enormously proud to announce that SYSTRA Arabia received the highest possible marks in obtaining our ISO certifications.

Over the course of a year, we diligently worked to meet the ISO standards, identifying and addressing any gaps along the way. At the culmination of this effort, auditors identified zero nonconformities whatsoever in awarding the following certifications:
