Context

The Senior Mechanical Engineer – MPF will oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems, with a focus on HVAC, Fire Protection, and Plumbing solutions for railway & large-scale infrastructure projects. The role requires ensuring compliance with international standards, performing system simulations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing engineering leadership to deliver efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective designs.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Collaborate with various functions to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Plan and lead conceptual and detailed design of HVAC systems, Fire Protection System, and Plumbing System for the intended projects.
  • Conduct heating and cooling load calculations, pipe and duct sizing, hydraulic calculation, select appropriate equipment for system efficiency and code compliance, and all other required mechanical calculations of the project.
  • Prepare design drawings, specifications, and technical reports that meet client and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform engineering calculations and provide technical clarifications.
  • Collaborate with electrical, architectural, civil, and structural teams to integrate mechanical systems into overall building designs.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA, Plumbing Code, and other applicable regulations.
  • Mentor and train engineers, coordinate design, and contribute to quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in project meetings, technical workshops, and client presentations.
  • Ensure seamless coordination of MPF System within the overall project design stages.
  • Participate in stage-wise design activities including space planning, design development, and preparing documents.
  • Deliverables include mechanical design packages, calculation reports, equipment schedules, system layouts, and project documentation.
  • Track progress and provide regular progress reports to Team Lead and MEPF Manager, highlighting issues and concerns.
  • Ensure to maintain project design documentation, including design basis documents and other related documents.
  • Ensure to have the required technical information to complete the MPF design.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time upon receiving clear instructions from Team Lead and/or MEPF Manager

Profile/Skills

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree and/or Professional Mechanical Engineer License is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer – HVAC, Fire Protection, and Plumbing;
  • Proficiency with MPF engineering design programs such as HAP, Elite, and other related software. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM is an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge & understanding of HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, and sustainable design practices.
  • Familiarity with international codes (ASHRAE, ISO, BSI, NFPA) and Philippines Standard
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Provide ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage client communications.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Attentive to detail and critically minded; and
  • The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
