Context

The role provides cost estimating, scheduling, quantity take-off and project reporting support to ANZ bids and live projects, working under the direction of ANZ-based bid leads and project controls managers.

Missions/Main Duties

COMMUNICATION

  • Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and 3D models.
  • Build first-principles cost estimates using ANZ rate libraries and historical data.

PROJECT CONTROLS

  • Develop and update Primavera P6 or MS Project schedules under ANZ direction.
  • Track progress against baseline; produce earned value reports.
  • Support cost forecasting, cash flow modelling and variance analysis.
  • Maintain risk and contingency registers.

INNOVATION

  • Show interest for new ideas. Search information and propose improvements to carry out their work
  • Makes efforts to optimise workflows efficiently using technology to innovate.

COMMERCIAL & BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

  • General commercial awareness (i.e. able to interpret contract terms and the importance of maintaining margin and profitability).
  • Uses the internal project management system as a business tool, understands contractual obligations and actively manages risks.
  • Contribute to tenders and bids.

REPORTING

  • Prepare monthly project performance reports and dashboards.
  • Compile bid documentation, schedules and cost narratives.
  • Support document control and project assurance activities.

  • Adhere to the Company WHS Policy (and Client WHS Requirements where appropriate and required).
  • Wear PPE where required.
  • Report health and safety incidents in line with Company Policy.

Profile/Skills

Education:

Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education. Your degree should be relevant to the field of consulting in projects you are currently working on.

 

Skills:

 

Essential

  • Four or more years in project controls, estimating or planning on infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Primavera P6; capability in MS Project.
  • Familiarity with first principles estimating and quantity take-off methodologies.
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, quantity surveying, construction management or related discipline.
  • Strong written English and reporting capability; capacity to operate within ANZ business hours overlap.

Desirable

  • Experience on Australian or New Zealand infrastructure projects.
  • Power BI dashboarding capability.
  • Exposure to CostX, Candy or Cubit estimating software.
  • Familiarity with NEC, AS 4000, GC21 or similar Australian contract frameworks.
