Denmark has received its first marine plan, which is now open for public consultation. The marine plan has been issued as a digital announcement, which means that you can find the legally binding information about both the content of the marine plan and the consultations at havplan.dk.
Project description
We are proud to be the system provider for the Danish Maritime Authority, responsible for the development and implementation of the digital platform for the maritime spatial plan.
The maritime plan will serve as the basis for coordinating the many different uses of the marine areas around Denmark and thus support the conditions for sustainable development and utilization of our marine resources.
With the maritime plan, it is the first time that legally binding information is made available exclusively in digital form. The geographical data is loaded from the Danish Maritime Authority’s GIS environment and presented in the portal along with the corresponding regulations. This way, one can find out which rules apply in a given geographical area at sea and participate in the consultation process regarding the plan.
SYSTRA (formerly Atkins Denmark) is responsible for the design, development, data quality assurance, as well as testing and commissioning of the portal for displaying the current planning information. The solution is based on SYSTRA’s cFlow platform and has been developed with a focus on maximum user-friendliness, operational stability, and security.
Nominated for the Geodata Award
The digital marine plan was nominated for the Geodata Award 2021 – both for the jury prize and the audience prize. The Danish Agricultural Agency won the award with the project on satellite control of farmers’ fields – congratulations!
