SYSTRA advises Banedanmark in the renewal of the existing lighting system at 13 stations in Jutland and Funen. The project also includes the establishment of access routes to a future BPU area at several of the stations.
Project description
Platform lighting enables passengers to navigate platforms safely and during boarding and disembarking from trains. Sufficient brightness and uniformity also contribute to a sense of security for passengers at the stations.
The current lighting systems need to be renewed partly due to the age of the installations and partly due to a desire for energy optimization by transitioning from fluorescent tube light sources to LED light sources, as well as to ensure that the lighting and speaker systems comply with current requirements.
It is expected that the renewals will reduce energy consumption by up to 50%.
Also, at selected stations, platform wells and pipe systems for future potential equalization systems are to be established according to the new BDK requirements for the construction of BPU areas at stations.
systra’s role in the project
For Banedanmark, SYSTRA has been responsible for preparing the program phase report, tender documentation, and supervision in connection with platform lighting at Middelfart, Gørding, Brørup, Lunderskov, Odense Hospital, Ringe, Svendborg Vest, Vamdrup, Frederikshavn, Vejle Hospital, Tommerup, Årup, and Nørre Åby stations.
The project mainly consists of two tasks:
- Replacement of lighting fixtures, masts, speaker systems, cables, and panels/board components
- Preparatory work for the establishment of the BPU area, including the installation of conduits for equipotential bonding cables
