project description

important to keep track of the bees

Beekeepers are required to register their beehives in the Central Apiary Register to track and manage the potential spread of diseases. Therefore, the newly developed solution also includes functions for mapping diseases, quarantine zones, relocation and sale of bees, as well as registration of physical sampling and response from Aarhus University, Public Bee Disease Control, and support for the work of Danish bee inspectors.

Secondarily, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration also uses information from the register to gain an overview of beekeepers and the locations of apiaries for inspections related to honey.

a user-friendly system

The purpose of the redevelopment of the existing register is to make the entire solution simpler and more user-friendly. Therefore, the solution is also linked to MitID, allowing users to easily log in and register themselves and their bees.

The Central Apiary Register is a redevelopment of the IT and WebGIS system of the same name. The new version will replace the older IT solution in the same area.
