The traffic map is The Danish Road Directorate’s map solution for motorists who want to get an overview of the current traffic situation. The solution offers real-time updates and alerts if something of traffic significance happens on a selected route. At SYSTRA (formerly Atkins Denmark), we have handled the development, implementation, and maintenance of the traffic map.

The main purpose of the solution is to create a central information channel for the Danish Road Directorate to inform motorists about the current traffic conditions.

The traffic map is based on a large amount of data, consisting of data points such as roadworks, stranded vehicles, road closures, etc. With a very high daily visit rate, there are strict requirements for performance and scalability.

The traffic map is designed with a strong focus on user-friendliness, ensuring intuitive access to information about relevant road conditions. The solution has a responsive design that supports PCs, tablets, and mobile devices.

maintenance and continued development

SYSTRA has designed, developed, tested, and implemented the web-based traffic map in close collaboration with the Danish Road Directorate, and we provide ongoing maintenance, further development, customization, support, and operation of the solution. In recent years, our work has included further development of features such as route handling and subscription with notifications for commuters, as well as maintenance tasks.
