Seven new spots will offer opportunities for increased nature and outdoor activities in Amager Nature Park.
project description
The new amenities feature docking areas for kayaks and rowing boats, a designated swimming area, spots for dining, recreation, and nature education.
In 2019, SYSTRA (formerly Atkins Denmark), as technical advisor, along with LYTT, ADEPT, and BARK Rådgivning, won the competition to develop three new main entrances and four new gathering places in Naturpark Amager. These now serve as landmarks in the landscape and enhance the opportunities to explore the magnificent natural area.
SYSTRA handled advisory tasks concerning structures on and near water, construction of paths, stairs, etc., geotechnics, nature, drainage, coastal protection related to interventions in dikes, authority processing as well as construction management and occupational health and safety.
Naturpark Amager is developed in partnership between the Municipality of Copenhagen, the Danish Nature Agency, By & Havn), Tårnby Municipality, and Dragør Municipality. The overall development program is supported by the Nordea Foundation, the Danish Outdoor Council’s funds for outdoor life, and the Local and Sports Facilities Foundation.
