SYSTRA Denmark Strengthens It’s Team with Two Strong Profiles

We are pleased to announce that Claus Madvig Petersen and Thomas Vesterholm will join SYSTRA Denmark as new Directors of Civils and Rail, respectively, effective 1 July 2025. Their appointments strengthen our commitment to growth, innovation, and sustainable solutions within the mobility sector.

Claus Madvig Petersen as director in Civils

Claus Madvig Petersen will take up the position as Director of Civils and will be responsible for our water and road markets. Claus has a strong background in the transport, energy, and infrastructure sectors, and has led both large and complex projects as well as multidisciplinary departments within, among others, bridges, energy facilities, software development, and GIS. Throughout his career, Claus has been responsible for the management of major infrastructure and energy assignments, the development and optimisation of processes and digital solutions, as well as project and portfolio management at several levels.

Claus joins us from a senior position at Ramboll, where he has served as Department Manager within Energy and Infrastructure.

Thomas Vesterholm as director in Rail

Thomas Vesterholm will take up the position as Director of Rail and will be responsible for our rail market. Thomas has more than 20 years of experience in rail projects, digitalisation, operations, and maintenance.

For the past 10 years, Thomas has run his own company and worked for clients including Metroselskabet and DSB, gaining extensive experience in sales and customer relationship development. In addition, Thomas has a background from companies such as Alstom, EY, and Banedanmark, where he has worked on major signalling programmes in Denmark and Norway.

With the appointment of Claus Madvig Petersen and Thomas Vesterholm, SYSTRA Denmark gains a strong management team with a strong sales focus, supporting our strategy for continued sustainable growth.

Both directors will start on 1 July and will be based at SYSTRA Denmark’s headquarters in Ørestad.
