Martin began his journey at SYSTRA in 2004 as a discipline manager and has since evolved into his current role as Technical Director. Throughout his career, he has held several leadership positions, including Section Manager and Department Manager for the Track Department. With his extensive knowledge and experience, he has been a central figure in the company’s development in the railway sector.
With more than 15 years of experience in leadership, contracting, and project management, Martin has been responsible for both complex railway projects and track technical tasks across multiple countries. His in-depth knowledge as a railway technical project leader and specialist in track technology and interdisciplinary connections makes him a highly sought-after advisor in projects. His ability to find the right quality level benefits both clients and project participants. As a result, Martin is often involved in interdisciplinary reviews during the early stages as well as during the design phase.

Martin has worked on projects in Denmark, Norway, Indonesia, and Ireland, and his expertise spans conventional railways, light rail, metro, and high-speed rail. He is well-versed in the track technical standards and regulations in both Denmark and Norway and has often been a key figure in the technical implementation of projects.

In addition to his technical role, Martin also has several years of teaching experience in track maintenance and track technology, which he has shared with future generations of engineers at DTU, the Nordic Railway Engineer program, and internally at SYSTRA’s track technical foundation course. His commitment to education and knowledge sharing highlights Martin’s dedication to advancing the development of the railway industry.
