If it's a good fit for you and your team, it's a good fit for SYSTRA. We asked Project Manager Lisa Storetvedt what makes SYSTRA an attractive workplace for her.

WHAT ARE YOUR TASKS AT SYSTRA

I have worked on a large signaling project in connection with the expansion of Oslo Central Station, where I as document controller was responsible for quality assurance and delivery of all SYSTRA’s documents and drawings for one of Norway’s largest infrastructure projects: The Follobane Project. Among other things, I worked with project coordination, quality control, managed the dialog with the customer’s document controller and supported our project director in his tasks. At the end of January 2024, I handed over the last document to Bane NOR and the Oslo S project was completed. At the same time, I was ready for new challenges, and fortunately SYSTRA was up for it. So now I’m embarking on a new career phase as a project manager in SYSTRA’s Project Management department, where I will help manage and develop interdisciplinary projects.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE SYSTRA?

I have a master’s degree in media science and have worked as a journalist and TV producer at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation for several years, so I don’t have a technical background and my path to SYSTRA is not the most traditional one. I’m from Norway myself, so it was natural for me to look for a job where I could use my Norwegian skills, which the work with the expansion of The Follobane Project gave me the opportunity to do.

It is also important to me that SYSTRA offers internal opportunities for career development, such as my role change from document controller to project manager.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WORKING AT SYSTRA?

Flexibility means a lot to me. The fact that I – to a large extent – can choose whether I want to do my tasks in the office or from home gives me a huge sense of freedom. I can work with my family in Norway for shorter periods of time, and I’ve also been given the freedom to pursue more demanding activities outside of work – for example, for a few months in the summer of 2022, I was deeply involved in the planning and execution of the music festival Copenhell. I really appreciate being able to fit that in. At the same time, it’s important for me to get into the office as well – seeing your colleagues in person is something completely different than just seeing them on Teams.
