# PANYNJ AirTrain Newark Replacement Project

**The New AirTrain system will be a critical component and centerpiece of the Newark Liberty International Airport modernization. As part of this effort, SYSTRA developed the pre-tender design of the maintenance and control facility, track, power distribution, and communications network.**

The design involved close coordination with the maintenance equipment, car
washer, and storage yard requirements and sustainable design criteria to be a
LEED Silver facility. MCF is an efficient functional building with aesthetic
elements shared with the architecture of the stations creating a cohesive
identity for the entire AirTrain system. The MCF will serve three primary
functions for the new AirTrain.
