SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Understand better who we are by visiting www.systracanada.com.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">Reporting to the Environmental Head and Part of a large Rail &amp; Transit Project, Systra is looking for a Hydrogeology Specialist for the team.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Completes the review of previously completed investigations and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Identify data gaps and commitments and Oversees development of the Investigation scope and schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the subject matter expert team tasked to complete Due Diligence work and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Incorporation of requirements into design.<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation that requirements and commitments are executed.<\/li>\n<li>Leads environmental design integration across all technical disciplines for the project corridor.<\/li>\n<li>Oversees environmental approvals strategy and ensures compliance with EA commitments, permits, and regulatory conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates with design teams, construction leads, and regulators to resolve environmental risks.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for environmental deliverables (including EMPs), schedules, and multidisciplinary coordination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">10-15 years of work-related experience on projects of similar size, scope, and complexity to the Project;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Hydrogeology, environmental planning, environmental engineering or another related discipline;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>P. Geo or P.Eng Certification<\/li>\n<li>the qualifications required by section 5 of Ontario Regulation 153\/04, as applicable to be a Qualified Person;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">experience with and understanding of the application and interpretation of Canadian Standards Association (CAN\/CSA Z768 and CAN\/CSA Z769) investigation criteria and criteria relating to the assessment of contaminated lands;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">experience with and understanding of the application and interpretation of Ontario Regulation 153\/04 and Ontario Regulation 406\/19, and investigation criteria relating to the assessment of contaminated lands;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">experience in designing, implementing and overseeing: groundwater management plans; Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments; groundwater characterization programs; vapour intrusion assessments; remedial action plans groundwater and\/or surface water; site inspection and monitoring programs for construction activities; and Dewatering\/Unwatering effluent treatment and discharge strategies-<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">knowledge of risk assessment procedures and requirements;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">knowledge of relevant federal and Ontario policies, procedures and legislation, including waste management and related legislation, regulations, guidelines and policies for water protection and materials management;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>ability to liaise with other specialty consultants, contractors and Governmental Authorities;<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">ability to delegate and supervise required specialist responsibilities as needed;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">experience with similar projects in the Province of Ontario;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><!---text--> <\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">SYSTRA Canada is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce.
