integration and safety management.

### Conventional and high-speed rail civil engineering

Our rail expertise enables us to constantly re-invent, adapt and re-imagine
transport solutions to meet tomorrow’s challenges. Our specialist knowledge of
design, multi-discipline integration and interface management enables our
clients to minimise disruption to passengers, reduce operating costs and deliver
greater efficiencies. With a deep understanding of the sector built up over
decades, we can deliver detailed civil engineering designs incorporating
rail-specific assets across track design, bridges, OLE structures and
earthworks, as well as managing the civil engineering interface with signalling,
E&P, telecoms, environment and ecology.

SYSTRA civil engineering rail project successes include HS1, HS2, East Coast
Mainline power supply upgrade, Gatwick Airport Station upgrade, Ebbw Vale
railway line transformation and the Transpennine route upgrade.

### Highways civil engineering

From site appraisal through to implementation, our civil engineering specialists
provide a comprehensive package of services for highway scheme design,
construction and cost control. Our engineering capability allows us to provide a
balanced, practical, deliverable and cost-effective service. We apply industry
software such as Bentley MX (XM), Civils 3D, PDS, Microdrainage (Windes)
Autotrack, Signplot and Autocad, to provide a powerful and flexible design
service to gain statutory approvals, Road Construction Consents and Section 56
approvals.

### Supporting renewable energy infrastructure

SYSTRA civil engineers play a key role in the planning, design and construction
of renewable energy infrastructure, including energy-from-waste, wind power,
biomass, solar and marine/tidal facilities. We have designed and constructed
some of the most advanced energy from waste (EfW) plants in the UK, including
facilities at Oxfordshire, Cardiff, Suffolk, Leeds and Staffordshire, winning
awards along the way. Appointed as lead designer on the EfW portfolio of
projects, we work in collaboration with contractors to deliver sustainable,
innovative and practical solutions.
