It can be used from the design and construction phases onwards, and will feed into the future digital twins of rail infrastructure operators and maintainers, increasing their ability to simulate and test the efficiency of their assets during the operating phase. A digital twin’s architecture will be made up of all the information systems capable of hosting and managing the data needed to operate the intelligent infrastructure. These virtual assets will have their own patrimonial value, inseparable from the value of the physical assets.
