SYSTRA development and infrastructure specialists help local authorities,

**SYSTRA has dedicated teams in our network of offices providing multi-disciplinary expertise to support urban development and infrastructure planning and delivery throughout the UK.**

Our development and infrastructure teams work with architects, developers and
urban planners to create masterplans for new developments or to regenerate
existing areas. We work with local authorities and other agencies to help
deliver developments that support their growth plans and sustainability goals.
This includes developing viable transport solutions, encompassing all modes of
transport and active travel opportunities.

Our emphasis in transport planning and infrastructure design is on improving
accessibility, safety and integration – to encourage a shift away from the
private car. Working closely with designers and spatial planners, we develop
transport solutions using a holistic approach that considers area-wide transport
requirements.

We guide our clients through the development process from inception and planning
to the implementation stages. Our development planners have a thorough knowledge
of the planning process, its pitfalls and opportunities – and have an excellent
track record of gaining approvals and consents. Our Infrastructure designers are
well versed in addressing Legislative and Health and Safety (CDM) requirements
and all post planning approvals and processes to get developments on site. Our
work for public and private sector clients includes the development of movement
masterplans, public transport integration masterplans, public realm strategies
and street designs. These could incorporate parking designs, active travel plans
and safe routes to school.

We understand the need to engage constructively with a diverse range of
stakeholders in any development programme. We also understand how to integrate
new developments within the existing urban fabric, and to carefully balance
competing needs for space and services. Our solutions and advice are always
based on evidence from our own rigorous research, consultation and analysis.
