SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Understand better who we are by visiting www.systracanada.com.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">We are looking to strengthen our Environmental team in Ontario and are looking for a <strong>Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials Specialist<\/strong> to join the growing team.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Review of previously completed investigations and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Identify data gaps and commitments.<\/li>\n<li>Development of the scope and schedule related to their specialty.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the subject matter team tasked to complete investigations work and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Incorporation of requirements into design.<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation that requirements and commitments are executed.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials assessments related to demolition of buildings, roads, utilities, and miscellaneous materials.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluates the potential risks for workers and develops mitigation and control measures in accordance with applicable legislation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>minimum of 4 years of direct work-related experience;<\/li>\n<li>a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field of study related to occupational hygiene, environmental health and safety, environmental science, civil or environmental engineering;<\/li>\n<li>experience in the identification and evaluation of Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Regulation 278\/05, Ontario Regulation 490\/09, Ontario Regulation 860 made under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario); Ontario Regulation 347 made under the Environmental Protection Act (Ontario); and Ontario Regulation 362 made under the Environmental Protection Act (Ontario);<\/li>\n<li>experience in the development of mitigation measures and removal plans for Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials;-<\/li>\n<li>knowledge of federal, Ontario and municipal policies, standards and guidelines, procedures and legislation with respect to Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials;<\/li>\n<li>ability to liaise with other specialty consultants, contractors and Governmental Authorities; and<\/li>\n<li>experience with similar projects in the Province of Ontario<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><!---text--> <\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">SYSTRA Canada is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce.
