SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Understand better who we are by visiting www.systracanada.com.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">Systra Canada is currently seeking an experienced Cable Design Lead to support the planning, design, and delivery of Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects across Canada.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<p><p>To undertake Cable Design for an LRT Project<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Diploma or degree in Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>8+ years&rsquo; experience in the design of cable containment (trays, conduits, duct banks) for rail\/transit or industrial projects;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Certified Engineering Technologist with significant experience in selecting cables and their installation and testing for rail transist systems. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge regarding containment \/ route design for major infrastructure would be beneficial.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>knowledge of routing constraints, constructability, maintainability and separation requirements for power, signalling and communications cables;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>experience coordinating with civil, structural, architectural and systems teams.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Required Technical Knowledge<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working knowledge of the following standards:<\/strong><br \/>&bull; Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC)<br \/>&bull; CSA C22.1 &ndash; Canadian Electrical Code, Part I<br \/>&bull; CSA C22.2 &ndash; Electrical Equipment Standards, Part II<br \/>&bull; CAN\/CSA C22.3 No. 7 &ndash; Underground Systems<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Applied knowledge in:<\/strong><br \/>&bull; Cable temperature ratings<br \/>&bull; Ampacity calculations and derating<br \/>&bull; Conductor sizing (AWG)<br \/>&bull; Wet-rated and sunlight-resistant cable requirements<br \/>&bull; Pull box spacing and conduit fill limits<br \/>&bull; Separation requirements for different cable types<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Beneficial Additional Experience<\/strong><br \/>Conduit, Raceway &amp; Cable Tray Installation Standards:<br \/>&bull; NECA 1 &ndash; Good Workmanship in Electrical Construction<br \/>&bull; NECA 101 &ndash; Installing Steel Conduits<br \/>&bull; NECA\/NEMA 105 &ndash; Installing Metal Cable Tray Systems<br \/>&bull; NECA 111 &ndash; Installing Non\u2011Metallic Raceways<br \/>&bull; NEMA VE 1 &ndash; Metal Cable Tray Systems<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Fire resistance &amp; smoke propagation:<\/strong><br \/>&bull; CAN\/ULC\u2011S139<br \/>&bull; UL 2196<br \/>&bull; NFPA 130<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Rail\u2011specific EMC, safety &amp; communication integrity:<\/strong><br \/>&bull; EN 50119, EN 50121, EN 50122, EN 50155, EN 50159<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Telecom structured cabling:<\/strong><br \/>&bull; TIA\u2011568, TIA\u2011598, BICSI<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Grounding, bonding, stray current standards:<\/strong><br \/>&bull; IEEE 80, EN 50162, NACE SP0169<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>TPSS &amp; OCS DC traction power cable standards:<br \/>&bull; IEEE 1653 series, AREMA<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Preference for Light Rail Transit (LRT) experience.
