Indonesia\u2019s trade competitiveness and future growth prospects depend on strong action to improve connectivity between economic centres. The slow development of expressways and the low capacity of the arterial network in response to rapidly rising traffic demand.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Masterplan for upgrading of the Arterial Road Network and Implementation of Toll Roads sets out Indonesia\u2019s economic development aspirations for the period up to 2025. For roads this implies high-capacity, high-speed inter-regional connections between main centres and good local connectivity with feeder markets and production centres. The MP3EI vision focuses on the potential development advantages inherent in each region throughout the country. On that basis six economic corridors were identified: Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali\u2013Nusa Tenggara, and Papua\u2013Kepulauan Maluku.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SYSTRA was engaged to undertake the traffic modelling and transport planning on a national roads planning project for Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have developed traffic models of Java and Sumatra for all major toll road and national road links and used this to prioritise future road development implementation plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also covered a review of required road infrastructure on other major islands of Sulawesi, Kalimantan and Nusa Tenggara. The study objectives were to identify major issues and to propose solutions and improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n
