# Geotechnical Engineer

## Context

As a _Geotechnical Engineer_, you will play a key supporting role in the
investigation, design, and delivery of geotechnical solutions for foundation and
pavement engineering projects within the transportation, infrastructure, and
major projects sectors.

## Missions/Main Duties

- Support the planning, design, and delivery of geotechnical investigations for
  foundation and pavement engineering projects across transportation,
  infrastructure, and major developments.
- Provide technical support, design input, and undertake reporting tasks
- Perform seismic hazard assessments, liquefaction evaluations, and numerical
  modelling to support project design.
- Develop geotechnical design recommendations for foundation systems and related
  infrastructure.
- Provide technical input on foundation design, ground response analyses,
  seismic site characterization, and seismic design considerations.
- Coordinate with structural and other design disciplines to ensure geotechnical
  recommendations are effectively integrated into the overall design.
- Contribute to the design and assessment of foundations, roads and pavements,
  retaining structures, slope stability, and ground improvement solutions.
- Participate in field activities, including site supervision, drilling
  operations, construction monitoring, and laboratory testing support.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to help deliver project
  objectives on time and within budget.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards,
  codes, and health and safety regulations.
- Review and approve the development and delivery of factual geotechnical data
  reports summarizing field investigations, results, sampling, and laboratory
  testing documentation.

## Profile/Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering from an
  accredited institution.
- _P.Eng. designation required._
- Minimum of _12+ years of geotechnical engineering experience_ related to
  foundation design.
- Demonstrated expertise in _seismic hazard assessment_, 
  _liquifaction evaluation_, and _seismic design_ for rail and transportation
  infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in _seismic and liquifaction analyses_, 
  _numerical modelling_, and the development of _geotechnical design criteria_.
