{"id":51603,"date":"2026-06-19T09:05:55","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T08:05:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/?p=51603"},"modified":"2026-06-19T09:07:02","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T08:07:02","slug":"putting-journey-planning-back-on-the-map","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/news\/putting-journey-planning-back-on-the-map\/","title":{"rendered":"Putting journey planning back on the map"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The app, called Ride, allows users to plan, book and pay before riding buses, trains, trams, rental e-scooters and e-bikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Future mobility specialists at SYSTRA lead the options appraisal for the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform, which was tailored to&nbsp;the transport networks in&nbsp;Nottingham and Derby.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project involved extensive stakeholder engagement and co-design; using interviews and workshops to identify and prioritise key platform features based on local needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alastair Kitson, Associate at SYSTRA, said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to have supported in the development, management, and delivery of the procurement process for Ride \u2013 which enabled the selection of preferred MaaS supplier Trafi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur role also included programme management, defining key activities, and supporting an engagement programme to develop a high-level technical blueprint. This important work informed provider specifications and supplemented ITT documentation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2026\/06\/news-article-graphic-ride-app-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-75908\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ride has been described by&nbsp;Councillor Linda Woodings, Executive Member for Regional Development, Growth and Transport at Nottingham City Council, as&nbsp;\u201cone of the first of its kind in the country\u201d and \u201ctransformative\u201d in how people track public transport options.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SYSTRA is committed to helping shape the sustainable, user-focused transport solutions of the future across the UK and Ireland.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our teams help clients forge better links between stakeholders across the mobility sector.
