{"id":31254,"date":"2025-07-02T14:22:34","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T13:22:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/?p=31254"},"modified":"2025-07-02T14:32:59","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T13:32:59","slug":"systras-geotechnics-specialist-charlotte-woodhall-jones-elected-to-the-bga-executive-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/news\/systras-geotechnics-specialist-charlotte-woodhall-jones-elected-to-the-bga-executive-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"SYSTRA\u2019s geotechnics specialist Charlotte Woodhall-Jones elected to the BGA Executive Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Nominations were recently put forward for three vacant positions on the committee and Charlotte will now become one of nine elected members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On her appointment, Charlotte said: \u201cI am proud and excited to have been nominated and voted into the BGA Executive Committee for the next three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I am passionate about the role of the geotechnical community within the ICE [Institution of Civil Engineers], specifically the importance of knowledge sharing and recognition of the contribution the regions can bring into the geotechnical community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee also comprises a Chair, Vice-Chair, two representatives of the ICE, and one representative of each of the Geological Society of London, the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and the British Tunnelling Society. Additional committee members may be co-opted for periods of up to three years for the purpose of carrying out specific tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile is-image-fill-element has-pale-blue-background-color has-background\" style=\"grid-template-columns:27% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2024\/07\/charlotte-woodhall-jones-career-profile-picture-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16856 size-full\" style=\"object-position:50% 42%\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>I am fully committed to offering my insights, and challenges where needed, to committee discussions. It is the UK member of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering and the International Society for Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlotte added: &#8220;I am fully committed to offering my insights, and challenges where needed, to committee discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt will be a wonderful and challenging three years, especially being Chair of
