{"id":2145,"date":"2023-01-19T18:20:31","date_gmt":"2023-01-19T17:20:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/?p=2145"},"modified":"2023-10-12T09:05:29","modified_gmt":"2023-10-12T08:05:29","slug":"systras-20m-levelling-up-fund-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/news\/systras-20m-levelling-up-fund-success\/","title":{"rendered":"SYSTRA&#8217;s \u00a320m Levelling Up Fund Success"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>SYSTRA\u2019s Business Case &amp; Appraisal Team, alongside Cushman &amp; Wakefield, supported Redcar &amp; Cleveland Borough Council in developing its latest Levelling Up Fund bid submission, which has now been awarded \u00a320m in funding as part of the latest round of major Government investment in local communities across the UK.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Levelling Up Fund forms an integral part of the UK Government\u2019s efforts to improve local infrastructure and cultural\/heritage assets, underpinned by \u00a32.1bn of second round funding for schemes across the UK. To secure funding, local authorities were required to submit bids outlining improvements that would support levelling up priorities within their communities, according to criteria set out by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>SYSTRA assisted several local authorities in the production of bold and ambitious bids for schemes which would help to improve local accessibility and public realm, increase the attractiveness of sustainable travel, and better link key destinations within local communities via sustainable modes.<br>In the case of Redcar &amp; Cleveland, SYSTRA worked with Cushman &amp; Wakefield on the local Council\u2019s bid to create a strategic cycle route linking South Bank with Guisborough via Nunthorpe, as well as a High Street and Beckside walkway regeneration scheme in Guisborough town centre, by way of economic appraisal and design support\/auditing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile is-image-fill has-pale-blue-background-color has-background\" style=\"grid-template-columns:21% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\" style=\"background-image:url(https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2023\/04\/amy-sykes-systra.png);background-position:48% 31%\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"457\" src=\"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2023\/04\/amy-sykes-systra.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2148 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2023\/04\/amy-sykes-systra.png 300w, https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2023\/04\/amy-sykes-systra-197x300.png 197w, https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2023\/04\/amy-sykes-systra-180x274.png 180w, https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2023\/04\/amy-sykes-systra-153x233.png 153w, https:\/\/www.systra.com\/ireland\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2023\/04\/amy-sykes-systra-230x350.png 230w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>I am proud that our team of business case experts has been able to support Redcar &amp; Cleveland Borough Council in preparing and submitting its successful Levelling Up Fund bid, which has now achieved a funding award of \u00a320m and which builds on our previous successes in the first round of funding allocations.
