My day-to-day activities vary, but in general I report on our current pipeline, report on the spending of the Sales and Bids teams, support in the preparation of bids, and raise awareness of sales and bids across the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As a member of SYSTRA UK &amp; Ireland&#8217;s Next Generation Leadership Team (NGLT) I spend time working on a variety of projects that have come about as a result of our initiatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I work with other NGLT members, SLT members and other early careers colleagues to bring about meaningful change to the business &#8211; change that does not omit the opinions and needs of early careers colleagues. We meet once a month to concur on actions and coordinate endeavours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:83px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-noir-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-my-career-journey\" style=\"font-size:32px\">My career journey<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I completed my undergraduate degree in Business Management at the University of Liverpool in June 2022, and in October 2022 I joined SYSTRA as a Project Controls Assistant. Following discussions with my managers and directors, we decided that my skills would be very useful to the Sales and Bids teams during this crucial time for the business. As a result, I joined the Sales and Bids transversal team at the start of February 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:56px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-we-asked-jakub\" style=\"font-size:32px\">We asked Jakub&#8230;<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-griplusclair-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div style=\"height:97px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-when-did-you-realise-this-was-the-career-path-for-you\" style=\"font-size:24px\">When did you realise this was the career path for you?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>When I first learned about projects during my degree &#8211; this really sparked my interest in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-have-you-got-any-words-of-wisdom-for-someone-starting-out-in-a-similar-role\" style=\"font-size:24px\">Have you got any words of wisdom for someone starting out in a similar role?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not be afraid to ask questions, and do not expect yourself to always be able to come up with the answers alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-how-does-systra-stand-out-from-the-rest-as-a-great-place-to-work\" style=\"font-size:24px\">How does SYSTRA stand out from the rest as a great place to work?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>From my experience, SYSTRA\u2019s culture stands out from any place that I\u2019ve worked in before. Colleagues are very helpful at every step of the way. Our work life balance is respected and cared for, and our wellbeing is always the priority for our line managers. It\u2019s all about how you feel on those Sunday nights or Wednesday afternoons, and those usually feel pretty good to me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-with-such-power-in-diversity-what-unique-perspective-do-you-bring-to-the-table\" style=\"font-size:24px\">With such power in diversity, what unique perspective do you bring to the table?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>People tell me that I come up with really good ideas. I tend to reject the obvious solution and go with something less obvious &#8211; you could call it thinking outside the box. I also come from a different country, which allows me to view things from a different perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-where-is-the-place-that-has-inspired-you-the-most\" style=\"font-size:24px\">Where is the place that has inspired you the most?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The City of London (conveniently where SYSTRA have an office). Every time I visit the London office, I am amazed by the location\u2019s architecture, history and significance to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-what-does-true-sustainability-really-mean-to-you\" style=\"font-size:24px\">What does true sustainability really mean to you?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For me, true sustainability could be achieved if we all lived and died without having a negative impact on the planet\u2019s future. We should aim for the next generation to be pleased with us, not to resent us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-what-would-a-green-future-look-like\" style=\"font-size:24px\">What would a <em>green future<\/em> look like?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>One where we can co-exist with nature in a symbiotic relationship, not in a host-virus relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-how-do-you-look-after-your-wellbeing-outside-of-work\" style=\"font-size:24px\">How do you look after your wellbeing outside of work?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I always make sure that I have been outside at least once a day. I try to reflect on the positive things in my life (no matter how big or small). I attend the gym 3-4 times a week and try to spend at least 15 minutes a day in silence with no stimuli around me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-if-you-could-spend-your-lunchbreak-with-someone-you-really-admire-who-would-you-choose\" style=\"font-size:24px\">If you could spend your lunchbreak with someone you really admire, who would you choose?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If it\u2019s a historical person, then I would go with Nelson Mandela. If it\u2019s someone who is still alive, then I would go with Jakub Blaszczykowski. Both have overcome impossible situations to still achieve amazing things in their lifetimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-eggplant-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-if-you-had-to-pick-which-mode-of-transport-would-you-use-for-the-rest-of-your-life\" style=\"font-size:24px\">If you had to pick, which mode of transport would you use for the rest of your life?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It would no doubt have to be a train. Train lines are the veins of a country, and trains are the blood cells that carry the important stuff to where it needs to be.
