This means the carbon emissions from energy, industry and transport must fall below the amount of carbon taken out of the atmosphere by our forests, peat bogs and any carbon capture technology. Clients have challenging decarbonisation targets to meet. Given that the transport sector comprises the second-largest share of Ireland’s sectoral carbon emissions (after the agriculture sector), decarbonising transport is one of the most urgent priorities.
