### Creating infrastructure for a sustainable future

Sustainability and environmental protection are among the top priorities for any
new transport, infrastructure or development project. Planners and developers
need to ensure new infrastructure is not only resilient to the effects of
climate change, but also maximises positive impacts on the environment,
biodiversity and natural ecosystems.

New developments need to balance the demands of multiple stakeholders, alongside
the need to comply with environmental legislation and find solutions that
minimise carbon emissions, noise and disturbance, land or air pollution, and
ecological harm. Legislation impacting new developments includes the Water
Framework Directive and Biodiversity Net Gain requirements of the Environment
Act.

**SYSTRA offers a one-stop environmental consulting service, encompassing advice, design and engineering support for sustainable transport, infrastructure and development projects in many sectors.**

The environment and sustainability consultants at SYSTRA have expertise in a
wide range of design, survey, construction and management services. With more
than 20 years’ experience in the transport, infrastructure and energy sectors,
we have the specialist skills to help clients address the challenges of climate
change, sustainable development and natural resource conservation.

### Sustainable infrastructure projects

Our environmental consultants work in partnership with clients and wider project
teams to deliver high-quality, innovative and responsive solutions to meet
specific environmental challenges and project priorities. We take responsibility
for managing environmental risks and developing and implementing sustainable
solutions on projects ranging from high-speed rail infrastructure and urban
mobility schemes to flood resilience, energy-from-waste facilities and clean air
initiatives.

### One-stop environmental consultancy

We offer a complete one-stop shop for all environmental services relating to
projects across multiple sectors and markets. Our in-house specialisms include
environmental coordination, BIM services, noise and vibration consulting, land
remediation and geo-environmental services. We can help projects to achieve
planning consents, drawing on our experience at every project phase – from
initiation and feasibility through to design, construction and operation.
