# Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC)- AC Coach EMU

**SYSTRA India is proud to serve as the Project Management Consultant to Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) for the prestigious MRVC-AC COACH EMU (SYSTEM) project. Building on our proven expertise in Mumbai’s suburban rail ecosystem, we are delivering end-to-end PMC services. This is to ensure the smooth introduction and seamless integration of modern Air-Conditioned (AC) EMU rakes into one of the world’s busiest suburban transit networks.**

Our multidisciplinary team of rail systems experts, rolling stock specialists,
and integration engineers is supporting MRVC in the strategic study and
implementation of AC EMU rakes. These efforts span across the Mumbai Suburban
Transit network (Central & Western Railways).

The assignment focuses on:

- Development of migration strategy, interface management, and performance
  optimisation. This is to ensure zero-disruption transition.

- Comprehensive systems study for phased introduction of AC EMU rakes

- Technical and operational integration with existing infrastructure,
  signalling, traction power, and station facilities

## Key features of the project

This landmark PMC engagement directly contributes to transforming Mumbai’s
suburban rail experience through the introduction of AC EMU rakes. It does so by
delivering:

- Enhanced passenger comfort and all-weather travel experience with full
  air-conditioning, addressing extreme heat and humidity
- Increased system capacity and efficiency through modern, high-performance EMU
  rakes with optimised dwell times and automatic door systems
- Seamless integration of new rolling stock with the existing 25 kV AC traction
  network, signalling, and operational protocols
- Sustainable and future-ready suburban transit solutions that reduce energy
  consumption and improve overall network reliability
- Strategic support for large-scale induction of AC rakes, including technical
  specifications, interface engineering, and performance monitoring
- Improved commuter experience for millions of daily passengers, with special
  focus on women, senior citizens, and differently-abled users. This is achieved
  through better interior design and accessibility.
