SYSTRA International Bridge Technologies working with Kiewit sponsored, planned, and led the citizens of Cinta Verde, Matagalpa, Nicaragua in building a suspension footbridge over the El Lim\u00f3n River. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This footbridge serves to link locals to schools, medical care, and markets on the other side of the river during the rainy season of June through December. Kiewit and SYSTRA IBT employees volunteered their bridge-building skills to work with the community through the Bridges to Prosperity Program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to developing and utilizing innovative construction methods that enabled the completion of the El Lim\u00f3n Bridge within the 10-day schedule, the Kiewit-SYSTRA IBT team empowered the community with the pride and skills necessary for them to maintain this bridge and others in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
