Award for a double-decker viaduct in Nagpur
Long-standing SYSTRA client Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), or Maha Metro, was awarded in June 2022 for the longest double-decker viaduct in Asia by the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records. SYSTRA provided General Consultancy services for the 3.14-km viaduct and assisted Maha Metro in successfully completing it within the stipulated timeframes.
The Nagpur Metro is a flagship project for SYSTRA’s teams in India who have led a general engineering consultancy consortium for Phase 1 since 2016 and won several other contracts in the meantime including the Detailed Design & Peer Review services on the Jhansi Rani Square Metro Station on Nagpur Metro’s Aqua Line, a station which subsequently received a Platinum Award from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
On the safety side, the Nagpur Metro is a shining example of SYSTRA’s 3S approach, as demonstrated by the project’s ‘safety park’ which displays and demonstrates the world-class safety systems and control measures implemented during the project.

Award for a state-of-the-art business park in Pune
In June 2022, K Raheja Corp, a property developer active in the commercial and residential sectors across numerous cities in India, received the 2022 award from the Architects, Engineers & Surveyors Association (AESA) in Pune for ‘Best Practices in Building Design and Construction, and to further creating a better Built Environment’ for their Kharadi Commerzone Pune project in the Non-Residential Industrial Building & Campuses category.
Commerzone Pune is a business park in Kharadi, a neighbourhood of Pune. It was designed with the specific requirements of IT/ITES, Research & Development, and Business Process Outsourcing companies in mind. The main advantage of Commerzone is the emphasis on modern services and amenities without compromising on aesthetics and dedicated spaces for essential support services like stationery and ATMs.
SYSTRA provided detailed design consultancy for the integrated infrastructure components like roads, water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage, power supply ducts, telecom network, solid waste management, and infrastructure for landscape maintenance for the entire Commerzone Campus.
We have been working with K. Raheja Corp. since 2011 on various projects. For this latest project we relied on the Integrated Infrastructure Engineering Design Services (IEDS) concept created by SYSTRA to provide detailed design services for all the external infrastructure assignments in one package. We are privileged to have contributed to such prestigious and successful projects for them and other renowned clients and to have had our skills and expertise acknowledged.
