Who we are
SYSTRA is a consulting and engineering group, a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures.
Our engineers work with passion to provide populations throughout the world the possibility to move freely.
Our solutions, for metros, tramways, high speed lines and classic railways, aim to serve general interest and meet the challenges of the transformation of towns, cities and territories.
A WIDE RANGE OF EXPERTISE TO OFFER MADE-TO-MEASURE SOLUTIONS
Our daily challenge: designing and implementing the safest, most efficient and economical made-to-measure transport solutions. Thanks to our know how and 5,400 experts, we are present at all stages of transportation projects: upstream studies and design, construction stages, testing and commissioning, operating and maintenance. We therefore provide a comprehensive solution and manage all kinds of missions - project management, system integration, etc.
A FRENCH COMPANY THAT HAS BECOME A GLOBAL PLAYER
Since our creation in 1957, SYSTRA’s playing field has been the world. Originally founded to export French know-how in the field of public transport, we are now present in over 80 countries. More than half of our engineers and technicians are based outside of France, compared with 31% in 2011, to provide more proximity to the customer and our work sites. They are of 45 different nationalities.
To strengthen our presence in key international markets, we are committed to a strategy of targeted acquisitions. We acquired SAI in India in 2014, and in 2015 and 2016 focused on developing our bases in Brazil, United Kingdom, Sweden and Australia. In total, 1,000 new Indian, Brazilian, British, Swedish and Australian employees have joined our teams over the past two years through external growth.
A GROWING COMPANY
The new SYSTRA was formed in 2012 from the merger between the best in French engineering from our teams, and that of our shareholders, SNCF and RATP. Since then, the company is driven by ambitious targets set out in the SYSTRA 2018 strategic plan. This includes growing SYSTRA twofold over six years to maintain and strengthen our leading position in collective mobility.
The mid-term review speaks for itself: an increase in revenue from €400 million to €600 million, an increase from 3,400 to over 5,000 employees, of which over half are under 40 years old.
