**A multi-disciplinary team of specialists from SYSTRA have been working since October 2024 to enhance connectivity for users across Dublin as part of the BusConnects Dublin project on behalf of the National Transport Authority (NTA).**

The BusConnects Dublin, Core Bus Corridors Infrastructure Works Program (CBCIW),
is a 10-year program aimed at designing 12 bus corridors. The aim is to deliver
a substantial upgrade to walking, cycling and bus infrastructure across Dublin.
This will lead to greater reliability and improved journey times with better
access to housing, employment and essential services such as healthcare and
education. In addition, it will improve the resilience of critical
infrastructure and help address climate change.

### A focus on soft modes of transport

SYSTRA consultants are providing multi-disciplinary technical expertise and
programme management capability working for the NTA’s Client Partner for
delivery services Jacobs, alongside Arup and Chandler KBS. Together they are
working on approximately 230 kilometres of continuous bus priority corridors and
around 200 kilometres of cycle paths and improved pedestrian facilities.

### Digital and data expertise

Our teams have also been selected to review the digital and data requirements of
the CBCIW, including data management standards, processes and procedures for
data validation/assurances, and the various IT system specifications.

This will support operational readiness of CBCIW by providing those contributing
to the project with the IT systems and information required plus skills to carry
out their daily work.

### Expertise in microsimulation

SYSTRA has experts in the use of microsimulation models to visualise complex
multimodal projects in 3D space. For the BusConnects programme, the Vissim and
Viswalk models (PTV), were used to predict the operational impact of bus and
cycle lane projects on road corridors.

### Solid experience in similar schemes

For SYSTRA, the work follows previous significant involvement in BusConnects
schemes since 2018, including supporting the delivery of the Dublin and Cork
BusConnects Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, and other bus priority
projects and active travel enhancements.
