**In Brazil SYSTRA was awarded assignments in 2022 for São Paulo Metro’s Line 15 on which the first monorail in South America runs.**

SYSTRA is providing specialised technical engineering services to support the
supervision, monitoring, and control of civil works of three stations and a
train maintenance and parking yard as part of the Line 15 (Silver Line)
expansion.

The works involve Ipiranga station, which will connect lines 10 and 15, the new
Boa Esperança and Jacu-Pêssego stations, and the sidings at Ragueb Chohfi.

### THE SÃO PAULO METRO: A SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY SOLUTION

The first metro in South America, inaugurated in 1974, the São Paulo metro is
also the first network to have selected monorail as its mode of transport, in
2014. Since the 1990s, the city has been developing a plan based on improving
urban mobility, of which the development of the metro network is one of the key
elements.

The extension of Line 15 will make a major contribution to offering a fast,
high-quality service to users. The metro will also help to reduce the number of
vehicles on the roads, thereby contributing to environmental protection and
improving the quality of life of inhabitants.
