En 2019, the Santiago Metro entrusted SYSTRA with the systems basic design of the future Line 7. In the context of this assignment, SYSTRA was responsible for the engineering, including maintenance solutions.

As part of its demographic expansion and to relieve the current transport network, the city of Santiago launched in 2017 the project to create a new metro line, Line 7. This automatic line will have 26km of track and will serve 19 stations. It is expected to open in 2026.

SYSTRA worked with Metro S.A. to define a maintenance strategy in line with its strategic orientations, including the digitalisation of maintenance. Asset Management has played a crucial role in integrating digital solutions to optimise maintenance operations and costs. The interconnection of data coupled with digital solutions allowed the visualisation and definition of potential interventions to be carried out on the track.

The project integrated predictive maintenance solutions from the design phase, allowing for a better incorporation of digital tools within the ecosystem.
