SYSTRA signs a contract for a renovation study of Line 1 of the Cairo metro

SYSTRA signs a contract for a renovation study of Line 1 of the Cairo metro with the Egyptian National Authority for Tunnels (NAT). It consolidates our 30-year partnership with the NAT as Systra designed Line 1 and also worked on Lines 2 and 3.

On Wednesday 16th January, Mahmoud Dow, Director of the Middle East Region, signed a renovation study contract for Line 1 of the Cairo automatic metro on behalf of SYSTRA with the Egyptian National Authority of Tunnels. This is a strategic contract for SYSTRA as it consolidates our 30-year old partnership with the NAT and confirms our position as consultant to this Authority, which is responsible for all metro projects in Egypt.

The contract was signed in the presence of Pierre Verzat, Chief Executive Officer of SYSTRA Executive board, and the Egyptian Prime Minister and Transport Minister and the French Ambassador to Egypt.
