SYSTRA makes the 1st train circulate on the extension of the line 1 of the Nice tramway

SYSTRA, representative of the consortium formed with AREP city, works as program manager since July 2010 on the extension of the Nice tramway.

On December 17th, 2012, in the presence of deputy and mayor Christian Estrosi and of chairman of the “Conseil Général” of the Alpes-Maritimes Eric Ciotti, a first train of tramway made 450 meters separating the terminus of Pont-Michel of the future station Pasteur. A reception was given for the local residents.

It is about the first one of the tests and the tries ran for the starting of the extension during the 2013 spring, to serve the new university hospital center which the works will end a few months later.

For a cost of 14M € of works for 450 meters, the extension contains 200 meters of green track in innovative installation, a structure of 90 meter, a crossed communication of front-station and a pooled progress of the road and railroad signaling.

The stakes of this project:

  • To optimise the works programme and ensure its good progress in order to respect an ambitious putting into service.
  • To achieve an integration that respects the urban zones crossed.
  • To master the communication phase of this project, both towards the project manager and the residents.
