Linking Oncopole, a cancer research centre, to the Paul Sabatier university via
the teaching hospital of Rangueil, the cable car will overlook the city of
Toulouse and the Garonne river. SYSTRA is participating in the project as part
of a group led by Poma, along with the companies Altiservices, Bouygues TP,
Séquences and Seti. This contract comprises the design, execution and
maintenance for the first 20 years of the cable car’s service.

The project complements other public mobility offers and connects to line B of
the metro and the bus network. Better still, Téléo will enable travel time to be
cut by two thirds, covering in only 10 minutes its different stops, whereas by
car this currently takes 30 minutes.

## A PROJECT 100% SOLAR-POWERED

The record length of 3km puts the cable car in front of the Pic du Midi cable
car which is 1.8km long and, furthermore, it will be fed by a photovoltaic power
plant, the largest among big French cities, that will produce up to 21 GWh, of
which 7.8 gigawatts destined for the urban cable car, making it a zero carbon
way to travel.

Charles-Alexandre Cayatte, SYSTRA Head of project noted: “We are delighted with
the official launch of the execution phase. Having worked on all the studies, in
agreement with the client and our partners, we are now in charge of the
supervision of all the sites, work that will be carried out to tight deadlines.
Now the course is set for the opening planned for the end of 2020, when Téléo
should be ready to transport 8,000 passengers per day!”.
