# SYSTRA’s expertise in digital engineering rewarded by Etihad Rail

An Innovation Award was presented at the first Global Rail event organised by
Etihad Rail, the manager and operator of the rail network in the United Arab
Emirates. Of the 75 entries received, the jury selected three innovations,
including the one proposed by SYSTRA, which presented the Digital Twin for rail
infrastructure.

Our strategy for developing the Digital Twin for rail infrastructure convinced
the jury from Etihad Rail, one of the Middle East’s leading network operators.
This award recognises the Group’s digital engineering roadmap.

## The Digital Twin soon to be in use at Etihad Rail

The Innovation Award is accompanied by a grant of 500,000 Emirati Dirhams (AED)
(€125,000), which will fund the development of the Digital Twin at Etihad Rail’s
facilities. This is a pilot project to test our innovation on part of their rail
infrastructure. The Emirati network will be one of the first clients for this
solution.
