# SYSTRA to transform historic railway station in Sweden

Opened in 1875, this station located 10km north of Västerås was the nerve centre
of the Stockholm – Västerås – Bergslagen axis until the 1990s. Passenger
services ceased in 2009 after the reorganisation of the network and the opening
of other lines on the outskirts, and only a maintenance and depot activity
remained. However, the local authorities, and in particular the local transport
committee of Västmanland County, are campaigning for its reopening to
passengers, in the form of a multimodal hub, as part of a large housing
development plan.

Our assignment includes the preparation of tender and construction documents for
construction contracts, permit management, construction site follow-up and
preparation of administrative documents.
