Metrolinx, the Ontario provincial government agency that oversees transit
expansion projects in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, has launched the
Eglinton Crosstown West Extension project, which will extend Line 5 Eglinton
another 9.2-kilometres farther west into neighbouring Mississauga.

Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario have awarded four contracts, two for
separate tunnel sections, one for an elevated guideway section and the other for
systems, rail and stations (SRS). SYSTRA Canada, as a subcontractor to Trillium
Rail Partners (TRP), will carry out Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance
oversight on the quality of the technical SRS design deliverables.
